Golf tournament - 2012
- Parcours du cerf, Longueuil
The Quebec Produce Marketing Association Golf Tournament dates back to Friday, July 27, 1956 when the very first annual event was held at the Ste-Agathe Golf Course under honorary chairmanship of Armand Provost.
There were 64 participants that day, one of whom – Roger Meloche – is still playing with us today! Dino Farrese (Bellemont Powell Ltée) is chairing this prestigious tournament for the first time this year. He is very enthusiastic to be taking over from Denis Robitaille (Courchesne Larose), who presided over this successful event for 10 years. Over the years, participants have had to opportunity to show off their skills on a number of different courses, from the Piedmont Golf Club to the Lachute Golf Club and, for the past five years, at the Parcours du Cerf in Longueuil. In that time they have raised over $100,000 for charitable organizations, including the Quebec Diabetes Association, the Quebec Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, the Parkinson Society Quebec, the Fondation des Gouverneurs de l’espoir and, this year, the Quebec Breakfast Club. Tastings held on the green give our members the opportunity to learn about and try new products.
