Full house at the QPMA’s “Cocktail & Poker” benefit for the “I love 5 to 10 serv
As Quebec’s largest business network for the fresh fruit and produce industry, the QPMA was delighted with the big turnout for the event. The evening was a great opportunity for guests to meet old friends and network with customers and suppliers before the start of the local produce season.
During the evening, over $20,000 was collected for the I Love campaign, which raises public awareness about healthy eating habits that include plenty of fruits and vegetables. Another positive effect of the campaign is to boost produce sales, benefiting QPMA members.
This year, the campaign had good visibility with ads on Astral Media, a partnership with the Quebec International Peewee Hockey Tournament, conferences by Julie DesGroseilliers, spokesperson for the campaign, in schools across the province and much more!
The winners of the evening are Mr. Stephane Bernardi of Canadawide, Mr. Lorenzo Scala of Tomato King and Mr. Peter Kalaganis of Via Trans International. Mr. Nick Pitsikoulis of Canadawide received the door price, a pair of tickets for Madonna, offered by the President of the evening, Mr. Sammy Cacciatore of Sungrape Marketing.
About the QPMA
Founded in 1947, the Quebec Produce Marketing Association (QPMA) includes some 500 businesses from virtually all levels of the food distribution chain. The association’s mission is to create a favourable environment for the marketing of fresh produce in Quebec. www.qpma.ca
The “I love 5 to 10 servings a day” campaign was launched by the QPMA in 2004. Its purpose is to raise consumer awareness about the importance of eating fresh fruits and vegetables as part of a healthy lifestyle and, as a result, to increase sales of these products for the benefit of its members. www.ilove5to10.ca
